Sitka spruce is a very versatile top giving a punchy, focused tone. Torrefied sitka spruce gives the soundboard a warm- well aged tone.

There are many custom options when it comes to picking the back and side wood. We do our best to pick quality, highly figured wood. Our end graft and heel cap are often another place for a one of a kind detail. We have used bone, metal, grass, wood, and pinecone here. We would be glad to implement a personal touch here for you, so feel free to interject any ideas! Here are a few examples to look at. Standard price includes your choice of end graft and heal cap. There are what may seem like endless combinations of bindings and purflings. Here are some combinations that we have done in the past that will help you decide the right combination for you. Our necks are hand carved using Honduras mahogany. We offer two volute options, diamond and round. We also offer a custom back plate option for an extra $100.

headplate, logo inlay, and tuner knobs
Our head plates can be wood, metal, or almost any one of a kind option you can think up. For a standard head plate we offer it out of spalted maple, copper, or wood matching your guitar design. You have an option of mother of pearl, abalone, or copper for the logo inlay. You also have a choice of waverly tuning machines. Standard tuners are relic nickel. Pictured here is a Koa headplate, abalone logo inlay, with waverly ivoroid tuners.

We offer ebony, indian rosewood, birdseye maple, or torrified birdseye maple for fretboard options. We can mark frets however you would like, but typically mark the twelfth with a double dot out of copper or wood matching your guitar. Custom inlay fret markers or other fretboard material is available at extra cost.

Each guitar we build comes standard with a Harptone Classic case. A custom fitted ameritage hard case is also available complete with Ameritage humidity control system to protect your guitar from both low and high humidity. +$325

progress book
At Bent Twig Guitars we document the building process of each individual guitar with photographs. We have dubbed it "the Bent Twig Baby Book". Books are approximately 25-30 pages printed on high quality paper. +$125

Ordering a guitar from Bent Twig Guitars is a very fun process! Please email or call and we’ll be glad to talk with you about your playing style, the size of guitar, the tonal and visual qualities of wood choices, rosettes, bindings and purflings, finishes, and so much more. Our desire is to keep the ordering process as simple as possible, so you’re not going to see a long list of confusing upcharges. Our standard price gives you options on some of the finest woods available.
We ask for a $500 non-refundable deposit in order to be placed on our waiting list. When we are ready to start building your guitar, we ask for a payment of 50% of the remaining balance. The final payment will be due upon completion of your guitar. It usually takes about three months from the time an order is placed to the time you receive your Bent Twig . Of course, we’ll send progress pictures along the way.

Your guitar will be shipped to you by USPS Registered Priority (buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance costs).
warranty
Bent Twig Guitars are covered by a limited warranty to the original purchaser of the guitar. This warranty covers defective workmanship and materials. Bent Twig Guitars does not cover damage due to normal wear, alterations, missuse, or damage incurred by extreme changes in temperature and humidity. If you are not satisfied with our finished product, you have 48 hours after receipt of the guitar to contact Bent Twig Guitars to schedule a return (buyer is responsible for return shipping and insurance costs). You will be refunded the selling price of the guitar minus the non-refundable $500 deposit.
